Legendary Chow Chows

Where it all started.........

Legendary Chow Chows came into being in the Spring of 1995 with the acquisition of our first show dog Ch. Rebelrun's Preferred Stock purchased from Frank & Sandra Holloway and bred by Love Banghart and Lucille Gibney.

Two rookies in the AKC Show Ring,  "Hutton" and Teresa worked hard together as an owner/handled team to finish their first championship together.  Following Hutton came our foundation bitch "Kacie" purchased from Michael and Barbara Bakert of XLNT Chows.  Kacie and Teresa spent the next two years in the show ring to take Kacie to two national titles as one to the Top Five Female Chows in the U.S.  Since that time, we have been working towards conditioning and breeding our chows for top competition in the show ring as well as developing loyal and dependable family guard dogs.

A Legendary Chow carries our trademark coat which is an abundant dark mahogany red.  With the exception of an occasional shaded red, we do not breed for any other colors.

Temperaments are very "Chow like" in that our dogs are extremely family loyal with  stand-offish and aloof behavior toward strangers.

Structure is a very important consideration in our breeding program.  We are striving for excellence in structure, balance and beauty in motion.

Show dog enthusiasts may be interested to know that our line has developed through the collective efforts of some of the top breeders in the U.S.  We are proud that our pedigrees incorporate deep lineage from these renowned breeding programs: Frank and Sandra Holloway of "My-Sam's",  Bob and Love Banghart of "Rebelrun", Michael and Barbara Bakert of "XLNT Chows", Tom Torres and Ruben Rios of "Legacy Chows", Roy Bailey of "Chowlamar", and Zola Coogan of "Redcloud".  All to whom we owe a great deal for entrusting us to follow through with their lines.   It is a responsibility that we take very seriously.
